The number of pictures delivered during a photography session can vary based on the type of session being conducted. For standard sessions, a good benchmark is to aim for around 50 images per hour. This allows for a variety of candid moments and posed shots, ensuring a diverse collection that captures the essence of the event or subject. However, for shorter or more focused sessions, the number of images may be adjusted accordingly.
Usually newborn photo shoots take place before your baby is two weeks old. The suggested age for newborn photo shoot is typically between 5-14 days. I usually suggest that my clients book their newborn photo shoot before their baby is born (typically around your second trimester).
Generally, I recommend outfits that are within the same “color family,” but not too matchy-matchy. For instance, you could go with earth tones, pastels, warm colors, cool colors or neutrals. I like to suggest to clients that they look at Pinterest if they are in need a visual example.
When you have a one-hour photography session, the editing process can take quite a bit of time—usually between four to eight hours. This is not done all at once but is instead spread out over a couple of days to ensure the best quality. After about a week, you'll receive some sneak peeks of your photos, which gives you a little taste of what to expect. It's always exciting to see those first images! Then, around the two-week mark, if everything goes smoothly, you'll receive your full photo gallery, allowing you to revisit those special moments captured during your session. However, for larger events like weddings, the timeline is a bit longer. In those cases, you can expect to wait approximately eight to ten weeks for the complete gallery to be ready. This lengthier timeframe is essential for the photographer to carefully edit and perfect all the incredible moments from your big day, ensuring that every detail is just right. While the wait may feel long, the final images will be worth it as they beautifully tell the story of your day.
